Provincial Gratitude Day (or, We have to eat all of this???)

So yesterday was the Provincial Gratitude Day! What does that mean? Well, it means that Salesian sisters from all over Kenya made their way to Makuyu where they partied hard in celebration!

Starting the day with the right attitude!

The Mother House
The aspirants and postulants ready to dance!
Priest is ready!
ALL THE SISTERS FOR MASS
Hanging out before we eat
Sr. Pat and Sr. Geraldine having a chat
Dancing sisters! GO HARD OR GO HOME!
Thank you in Italian!
Thank you in Swahili!
...I don't know this language.
SO MANY SISTERS
Everyone contributed a dish
My body is ready (and yes, that is wine)

I had to duck out early to go supervise the Form Threes and Fours during adoration (mainly to make sure they didn’t run away), but it was super cool to meet all the sisters and attempt to dance with them! As the sisters said, Happy Feast!

Interesting Stories of the Week:

  • So, some of the younger girls have decided that they are going to be sisters when they grow up. To prepare themselves, they made themselves some veils to wear during prayer time.
AREN'T THEY THE CUTEST THINGS EVER!?

  • Also, today we scrubbed the floor because it was getting pretty dark along the edges of the wall. I was the soap master, which meant that whenever one of the girls wanted more soap, they would yell for me to come over and give them some. At one point, I was basically running back and forth because the girls weren’t exactly running an efficient yelling system. BUT, I got some fun pictures!
One square per person please
Gotta have that water
'Tis I, the Master of Soap

Kiswahili Phrase of the Day:

  • Kuja apa! – Come here! (Or, what the girls yelled at me when they needed more soap.)

Kwaheri!
